Our weekdays start early. Although Eleni prefers to sleep until at least 9 a.m., she has a long commute, and has no choice but to get up early on workdays (thank God for coffee!). Fortunately, Philip is a true morning person, rising early even on the weekends. Philip drives Eleni to the train each morning and picks her up each evening. That small act of love is a huge blessing!
Since buying our home, we have planted a vegetable garden each year. Philip is out there every evening tending to the garden. We get so excited when we begin harvesting our tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, etc., and Eleni begins trying out new recipes. This year finds her experimenting with zucchini bread and stuffed tomatoes. She also plants lots of flowers every spring to beautify our home and yard. Long walks are another favorite pastime, and we’re definitely looking forward to putting our baby in the stroller and roaming around the neighborhood, or heading to the park or the zoo.
While we have great love and respect for one another, we also remember our roots – and our sports teams! Twins-Sox, University of Minnesota-Northwestern, and Vikings-Bears games can present some tense moments since both of us back our home teams with a passion.
